I'm so glad you're all right. People are amazing. I've always found they step up to the plate when they are needed.
I was on the upper floor of a very large hotel when the fire alarm sounded. With mobility issues and none of my family around I headed out the door and down the stairwell. Of course I move very slowly with the cane and all. One couple saw my difficulty and asked if they could help, but of course, short of having a cute fireman carry me, there was nothing they could do. None of us really knew if there was a fire or how big it was, but this couple stayed with me, directing people around me and made sure I got out of the building. It meant so much to me that two strangers cared so much about my safety.

Take care of yourself...you might find more aches, pains, and bruises for days after your accident.
It's comforting to know that there were people there to help. I believe in the kindness of others, although sometimes we're so caught up in our own world we don't "see" what's in front of us. These people who helped you were great citizens and we need more acts of kindness!

Very scary. So glad you're okay. You deserve some ice cream after that experience.

It is so nice to see random acts of kindness still exist.

@Jean Hart Stewart
Hm, it's a good idea, but my publisher has been very good to me and I've not made enormous demands upon them. Also, I've only gone through EC, so I don't have experience with other publishers. I'm sure authors should avoid other pitfalls than just contracts, but most likely I don't have personal experience with those pitfalls.

Or maybe I'm too tipsy at the moment to recall such "traps". (Seriously, I had half a bottle of Chardonnay.) XD

Any traps you've encountered, Jean?

I likw aites that are easy to read, and have something in it to make you think. Deleted scenes sounds great. How about traps to watch out for if you're published or is that too restrictive?

i know what you mean. i hate it when the character is too perfect so you feel as if they are unreal but i also hate it when they spend the first half of the book in denial of their feelings and the second half mooning thats they missed thier chance because they were too pig headed to see what was in front of them.

if you have read "what a dragon should know" by G.A. Aiken you would understand that i feel these are the best set of characters as both like each other but pick at the faults that help make the characters endearing to the reader and each other.

they're not perfect but they dont really care.

yeah so thats my rant for today.
