THEM’S THE BREAKS

Well, Oblivion has been out for over a week, nearly two. Though Blues is coming in mid-April, my editor and I have already finished edits on it, so all that’s left is the cover and one final edit confirmation. I’m both excited and anxious about the cover for Blues. I had this super sexy cover image in mind, one that really pops out to the eye, but I’m not the cover artist, who might decide to do something entirely different than what I suggested (though I tried to be humble while flailing with giddy glee at the idea).

Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

As for Oblivion, I honestly have no idea how many people (real people and not bots) keep track of this blog, despite the stats page (which sometimes makes no sense to me), but if you are keeping track and if you did read Oblivion, I hope you enjoyed it. Of course, as I was glancing through the digital author copy a few days ago, I found a word that I really wish I could’ve changed before final edits and was kicking myself for how silly it sounded (since it was pretty repetitive), but I guess them’s the breaks.

I hope you’re having a wonderful 2008!

OBLIVION HAS BEEN RELEASED

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve been anxiously awaiting the day that Oblivion would hit EC’s front page for many months. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Truth be told, I’m also excited to get back to writing book four–still no title yet. My time studying for the JLPT came right before my 2-week vacation to my hometown, so I haven’t had time to sit down and write for a while. I miss dreaming about the new hero in my fourth book, and hoo boy is he a dreamy guy–though…not necessarily in the suave kind of way.

Please email me if you buy and like Oblivion. It’d mean a lot to hear from fans. I’m not at all famous, so you’re pretty much guaranteed to get an answer from me. Thanks and lots of love!

ALMOST 2008

Whew… the JLPT is over–has been for a couple of weeks. The relief is immense, but please allow me a quick rant (see “read the rest” at the bottom).

As for book stuff, I’m excited about Oblivion’s release in only two and a half weeks–am slightly concerned that it is not on EC’s site yet, but only slightly. My editor and I have pretty much finished up the edits for Blues as well. Writing will of course be a little slow over the holidays, but still, the fourth book (still with no title) is coming along nicely.

And now, rant on! Read more

RELEASE DATE FOR OBLIVION

Happy Halloween, everyone! I got a little candy from co-workers today, which is just right since too much Halloween candy goes straight to my ass. @_@

First, I have an announcement: the release date for Oblivion has been decided. Please look forward to reading the sequel to CitDH on January 4th, 2008. I hope everyone enjoys the sequel/finale.

Second, I thought I’d list some cheap and fun Halloween costumes that I saw back in my college days (college kids are always broke) for anyone who wants to throw together a costume at the last minute.

BACK TO THE DAILY GRIND

Well, summer was fun (and way too hot). The weather has been a little cooler lately, though I’m sure those stifling temperatures will come back for a few more days before autumn officially arrives. Tomorrow starts another segment of work, but I’m super excited (not about my day job, though). Read more

SUMMER NIGHTS

Whew… Wow, it’s been an odd summer vacation. I’ve been productive and yet haven’t been working my “day job”. Read more

APPROVED!

Oblivion has been approved for publication. Once some paperwork goes through, my lovely editor and I will get started on official edits. I’m going to have some free time for a few weeks very soon and plan to get some writing done, so perhaps I’ll be able to get that third book out not too long after Oblivion hits the EC website.

THINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE

I sent the edited rough draft for Oblivion to my EC editor a couple of days ago. We’ll see what she says. Read more
